Family Fun Day!

Family Fun Days are held on the 3rd Sunday of each month from 2 to 4 p.m. and are an opportunity for parents, grandparents and children to interact with each other during educational activities.

Each Family Fun Day has a specific topic and typically includes a video and/or presentation, crafts, activities, a free take-home packet and a book drawing. Refreshments are also served.

Admission to the Family Fun Day is $2 per person and reservations are encouraged. Reservations may be made by calling 605-723-1200.

First Saturday Brunch

First Saturday Brunches (FSB) are held on the first Saturdays of each month, with the exception of July, because of the Black Hills Roundup.  They provide an opportunity to eat a meal prepared by museum volunteers, see friends from the surrounding communities and hear an educational program.

Speakers are carefully chosen to provide a variety of experiences for FSB attendees and topics can be about history, science, culture or the arts.

Admission to First Saturday Brunch is $5 per person or free with museum membership. Reservations are required.

2026 Classes

PreK-3rd grade from 10-noon; class for older kids 1-3. Morning class for younger kids include gathering circle and songs. Snacks provided for both morning and afternoon classes.

Black Hills Roundup – prca rodeo & parade

The Black Hills Roundup began in 1918 as a fundraiser for WWI Red Cross efforts. It continues to this day as one of the most anticipated events of the 4th of July holiday in the Black Hills. It is the biggest event of the year in Belle Fourche, and many school and family reunions take place at this time.

The Roundup now includes not only the Ranch Rodeo and four PRCA performance nights, but two of the biggest nights of 4th of July fireworks in the Hills. The rodeos themselves always include fun family-friendly events such as calf roping and mutton busting. Rodeo evenings end with concerts held at the Roundup Grounds. Other activities include an authentic cattle drive down State Street, plus the highly anticipated 4th of July Roundup Parade through downtown Belle Fourche.

Tickets for the Black Hills Roundup – as well as the accompanying carnival – are sold each year at the Visitor Center desk at the Tri-State Museum and Visitor Center. The staff of the complex also helps the BHR with marketing and promotional materials, as well as preparation for the parade and other events.

Hometown Thursday’s

Founded in 2013, Hometown Thursdays sole purpose is to provide the Belle Fourche Community with a fun series of concerts every summer during June & July. You’ll find us every Thursday night in June & July on the grounds of the Tri-State Museum and Visitor Center.

The events each year would not be possible without the support and sponsorships we receive from many businesses, individuals, the City of Belle Fourche Public Works Department and the staff at the Tri-State Museum and Visitor Center.
